Adobe é uma técnica antiga de construção, com base no fabrico rápido de tijolos em terra (e palha, estrume, dependendo de quem os faz).

Workshop de 2 dias, 15 horas teórico-práticas, que engloba:

Levantamento de uma parede

Técnicas de reboco

Workshop de construção de forno a lenha & workshop de fazer pão caseiro

Um forno é uma construção que se pode fechar e conservar calor em altas temperaturas, para assar (ou “cozer”) pão, bolos ou outro tipo de alimento, para secar peixe ou carne

Este workshop de 2 dias consiste na construção de um forno em tijolo refractário (tijolo de burro) no 1º dia, e aprender a fazer pão, no 2º dia.

1ºdia: O forno:

Construção de uma forno de pão recorrendo a tijolos refractários (tijolo de burro)

2º dia: O Pão

Tópicos gerais:

Ferramentas & utensílios;

Farinha & massa;

A lenha;

O fogo;

Os pães;

A cozedura;

Construção em fardos de palha

Workshop de introdução à construção em fardos de palha

Vamos construir 2 casas de palha, (3×3 mts) suportadas em 2 ruinas de pedra, existentes no local.

Limitado a 10 pessoas, este workshop vai compreender:

Limpeza do local e nivelamento dos muros de pedra;

Estrutura base em madeira, porta e janelas;

Estrutura de madeira para mezzanine;

Paredes em fardos de palha;

Técnicas para reenforçar as paredes;

Reboco em argila (1º fase);

Reboco em areia e cal (2ºfase);

Data: 31 de Julho a 5 de Agosto

Duração: 6 dias

Horário: 09:00-12:00 / 13:30-16:00

Once a month the project is open for people to come and spend the day with us learning about forest gardening and permaculture.

The day will begin with an introduction to the principles of forest gardening,  plants and trees that we use in our design and species that can be included in other designs. Following that there will be a guided tour of the project to see and talk about what it looks like in practice.

We welcome questions and hope that the tour will get people talking and inspired.

The afternoon will include options relating to the preferences of the group, time of the year and the activities we are involved in on the land at that time. These may be: storage and preserving of produce, herbal tincture, oil or cream making, edible wild food, tree planting,  juice making, discussions on various relevant topics or feel free to suggest any specific topics you are interested in when you make a booking. We will try to meet your needs.

Open days start at 10.00am and will finish at 6.00pm with a break for lunch provided mainly from the forest garden or locally produced. Lunch is vegetarian.

The cost for the day is 15.00 euros per person and groups are limited to 10 people.  We accept bookings up to one week before the open day.

The next open day will be on Saturday the 12th June 2010.
